Adapted Zeiss 15/8 Hologon to Leica M Mount $2500
In 1972 the Zeiss made 15/8 Hologon in Leica M mount was the ONLY wider than 21 optic available for M cameras. It was not equaled until the introduction of the Voigtlander 15/4.5 in 2000. Great user lenses as well as low production collectibles, the M mount Hologons could sell for $10,000 or more in new condition. Then less wealthy photographers noticed the same Zeiss Hologon lens was sold mounted on a less expensive Zeiss Hologon camera. Hmm. You got it. Put on the white gloves and pull out the hacksaw. Presto chango: a Wholey Hologon M lens!
This lens is a dead on, and I mean dead on, Ebay New++ Condition -- otherwise known to aficionados as worn user condition. Still, it is one rare lens and rare viewfinder.
Notice the rare hand crafted focusing lever craftily designed to drive nutty collectors crazy. Taking a hint from Henry Ford's famous Model T marketing philosophy, Zeiss wilily allowed Hologon buyers to have ANY f/stop or combination of f/stops they desired, so long as that f/stop was f/8 and only f/8.
